ReadBetter offers a library of public domain literary texts sourced primarily from Project Gutenberg. Each book includes text-to-speech narration with word-level highlighting and AI-generated explanations of notable terms, phrases, and references.
The app is a reading tool. It is not a substitute for academic research, professional literary analysis, or educational certification.
Term explanations in ReadBetter are generated by artificial intelligence. While we work to make these explanations accurate and useful, they may occasionally contain errors or simplifications. AI-generated explanations should be treated as a helpful reading companion, not as an authoritative reference.
We continuously review and improve explanation quality based on user feedback and editorial review.
If you spot an explanation that seems wrong, you can flag it directly in the app. We review flagged terms and correct them.
You need an account to use ReadBetter. You can sign up with your email address or use Sign in with Apple. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings page. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data from our systems.
Use ReadBetter for its intended purpose — reading and learning. Don't attempt to reverse-engineer the app, abuse the API, interfere with other users' experience, or use automated tools to extract content or data from the service.
The literary texts in ReadBetter are public domain works. Our narrated audio, AI-generated explanations, app design, and original content are owned by ReadBetter and protected by copyright.
You may use the app and its features for personal, non-commercial reading. You may not redistribute the audio narrations, bulk-export explanations, or reproduce substantial portions of the app's content.
We aim to keep ReadBetter available and working well, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update features, modify the book library, or change how the app works as we improve it.
If we make significant changes to these terms, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect.
ReadBetter is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, if any.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales.
